Wayne County VINELink Coverage
The UDC VINE Service is Utah's free automated custody-information and notification channel for state corrections events. It can report prison release, escape and return, death, transfers among covered correctional settings, and a parole release date notice before the event. The public VINELink search also presents participating county agencies in its live interface.
Wayne County does not operate a jail. UDC identifies Sevier County Jail as the destination for Wayne jail sentences, so a county-jail search must use the actual Sevier record shown in VINELink. A state prisoner is checked through UDC coverage even when housed at a contract county jail. Federal BOP and ICE detention are outside this Utah VINE path.
Coverage describes the reporting agency, not every past Wayne case. If a person is not found, verify spelling, identifiers, agency choice, and current custody. A no-result does not establish that release occurred or when it happened.

Wayne VINELink Release Fields

“Out of custody” means the selected agency no longer reports that custody. It does not distinguish bond, sentence served, dismissal, transfer, or another endpoint. For a Sevier jail episode, request the release sheet. For UDC, compare the final status and newest Board decision.

Register Wayne County Release Alerts
Open the matched record before registering. Alerts tied to the wrong person or agency create false confidence. UDC says registration can be completed by phone or online and may be anonymous. Offered channels can vary with the interface.
- Choose the notification or get-notified action on the verified record.
- Select the offered phone or email method and enter the requested destination.
- Create a PIN when the telephone flow requests one.
- Review the available custody events, including release or transfer, and select those needed.
- Save the registration and retain the final confirmation.
- Use the PIN to acknowledge a telephone notice when the system calls.
UDC states that calls or emails may repeat every hour for as long as 48 hours until a telephone notice is confirmed with the correct PIN. A message may be left, followed by another call. Several telephone numbers can share a PIN. These details apply to the UDC VINE service and should not be assumed for an unrelated federal system.
The automated line is 1-877-884-8463 and is available around the clock. UDC Victim Services lists 801-545-5658 for program contact. For immediate status, confirm with the holding agency rather than waiting for the next alert cycle.
VINE Fills Wayne Release Gaps
Utah VINE is especially useful in Wayne County because there is no Wayne jail feed and no verified stable Sevier 24-hour or 72-hour release archive. It adds a change-notification layer where a local browser list is absent. That does not make VINE the underlying release record.
BOPP has warned that technical issues can make VINELink notices inaccurate or missing. UDC also cautions against depending on the service alone. A release alert should trigger a direct check with Sevier for local jail custody or with UDC for state custody. The Wayne court docket can supply the legal basis, while the custodian supplies the physical event.
This local gap also makes agency selection critical. Choosing UDC for a person held only on a local sentence at Sevier can miss the record. Choosing a county jail for a UDC prisoner can hide continuing state custody after transport.
Confirm Wayne VINELink Release Results
Use a source-specific confirmation chain. For a Wayne-origin local case, ask Sevier for the booking number, release date and time, release type, and destination. Ask Wayne Sheriff for the arrest and transport record if needed. Read the Wayne court disposition to understand why release was authorized.
For a state sentence, check UDC Offender Search by UDC number and read the latest BOPP hearing or decision record. UDC's public search covers people currently incarcerated or on probation or parole. A fully discharged person may drop out, so preserve the Board order or request the UDC release record. A tentative hearing date is not a release date.
Federal BOP custody requires the BOP Inmate Locator and federal docket. ICE detention requires ODLS or ERO contact. USMS pretrial custody may never produce a BOP locator record. VINELink is not the search tool for any of those federal paths.

Wayne VINE Agency Choice
A Wayne case does not tell VINELink which agency to search. For a local arrest that led to a Sevier jail stay, the county-jail record is the relevant custody episode. Wayne Sheriff may document the arrest and transport, but Wayne has no jail entry to display. Select the Sevier record presented in the live system and confirm its release data with Sevier booking.
A person sentenced to state prison remains under UDC even if physically placed in a contract county jail. UDC says about one quarter of state prisoners are housed in participating county facilities, while Wayne itself has no contract beds. A host-jail move can be transport to USCF or another placement. Continue to use the UDC number and Board order until the final state release event is verified.
Probation and parole are also within current UDC search scope. They mean the person is in the community under supervision, not fully discharged. Wayne County is divided between AP&P Richfield for the west half and Price for the east half, so the reporting address or agent information should determine the correct supervision office.
Document Wayne Release Alerts
After an alert, record the person identifier, reporting agency, event wording, delivery time, and the displayed update date. Do not publish the alert as the sole proof. Call the listed jail or UDC and request the final record. For Sevier, seek the release date and time, release code, destination, booking number, and Wayne case number. For UDC, seek the final movement, release, or discharge record and compare the latest BOPP decision.
The Wayne court register may show the reason for the change, such as bond, dismissal, a sentence, or a later order. Yet the court entry does not show the moment jail staff completed departure. Keep both sources. If the alert says transfer, identify the receiving agency before describing the person as released.
Corrections should go to the source that made the error. Wayne Sheriff handles Wayne arrest data, Sevier Sheriff handles its booking and release data, UDC handles its status, and the filing clerk handles the court docket. Changing one record does not update all others automatically.
Keep alert details private and limited to the purpose that prompted registration. UDC describes VINE as a victim notification service, and the automated event is not a public finding about guilt or risk. If safety depends on current status, use the direct agency contact listed by UDC and follow instructions from local authorities rather than relying on a delayed message.
Wayne Release Alert Terms
Small wording differences change the conclusion. Read the displayed term in its agency context.

- The reporting agency ended its custody episode, subject to the event details in the official record.
- Transfer
- The person moved to another facility or agency and may remain in custody.
- Parole
- Prison confinement ended under Board conditions and AP&P supervision.
- Discharge
- The sentence or supervision ended, which is not the same as leaving a jail.
- Notification
- An automated message about a reported change, not the final source record.
Utah's public offender registry is also separate. It covers people with a specific legal registration duty and is not a general list of released Wayne County inmates. A missing registry record says nothing about a person's custody history or release.
